Crew & Volunteers


Our OneWalk Crew are absolutely integral to OneWalk’s success. Crew members make a profound impact on the lives of our Walkers and the work of The Princess Margaret by taking on a variety of tasks across the OneWalk event. You can sign up as general Crew, as a Crew Captain, as a truck driver or as specialty Crew such as doctors, nurses, massage therapists, chiropractors and podiatrists. Crew can register as a team and can be part of a team with Walkers as well. Crew is an all-day commitment and Crew Members are required to attend an All-Crew Meeting on the Friday before the event in preparation for it.

We are so grateful to our volunteers who contribute their time, expertise, and skills to make OneWalk an amazing experience for our OneWalkers, their friends and family. Some Volunteers help before the event, assist at outreach events, lead Training Walks and help at the OneWalk office. Others help on-event, greeting participants and making the OneWalk event experience amazing.

Volunteering is a great way to make a real impact on cancer research and care.

Definitely! You can be a Crew member as well as part of your favourite team. Your fundraising can be combined.

You have to be 13 years or older to join our Crew team. Anyone 13-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the same role and area during the event day. We also encourage groups of friends and classmates to join us with the accompaniment and supervision of a school teacher or parent.

Totally! If you and some friends want to crew together, let our Crew Coordinator know on your assignment form!

We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on event day for our Crew members. We do provide a vegetarian/gluten free option; however, for all other allergies or preferences please bring your own meals and snacks.

We are holding a mandatory All-Crew meeting on Friday, September 8. Captains meet at 5 p.m. and everyone meets at 6 p.m.

Crew are recognized for 40 hours of volunteerism for joining us on the weekend.

There is no fundraising minimum to join Crew; however, we recommend setting a goal of raising $500 so that more funds can be invested into cancer research.
